Malaysia Pays Tribute to Engineer F. R. Khan
Malaysia has paid tribute to Fazlur Rahman Khan, the world-renowned Bangladeshi-born structural engineer.
In a message issued on Monday, the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka said Khan’s innovative tubular structural system had reshaped modern skyscraper engineering worldwide. Sharing a photograph of the Petronas Twin Towers, the commission said his groundbreaking ideas had greatly expanded the possibilities of high-rise construction.
It added that the structural principles pioneered by Khan went on to influence the design and construction of many iconic skyscrapers around the world, including Malaysia’s Petronas Twin Towers.
Fazlur Rahman Khan is not only a source of pride for Bangladesh but also one of the most inspiring figures in the global engineering community.
