Government Moving Forward to Fulfil Its Promises to the People: Prime Minister
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said the new government, elected with a strong public mandate, is moving forward with a clear plan to fulfil its promises over the next five years.
He made the remarks on Saturday (October 3) while addressing the opening session of the three-day international conference, Bay of Bengal Conversation 2026, at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. The event is organised by the Centre for Governance Studies.
The prime minister said protecting national interests, maintaining consistency in government policies, ensuring economic stability, and carrying out institutional reforms are among the government’s main priorities.
“We are now moving from promises to implementation,” he said.
He added that the government has taken steps to make Bangladesh an attractive investment destination and transform the country into a strong centre for manufacturing and investment.
This year’s conference is titled “Fragments, Frontiers and Futures: Navigating Power, Technology and Trust in a World Rewritten.” The event will continue from October 3 to 5, bringing together around 200 speakers, more than 300 delegates, and over 1,000 participants from more than 100 countries.
