bdnews24.com Editor-in-Chief Toufique Imrose Khalidi Dies in London
Toufique Imrose Khalidi, editor-in-chief of bdnews24.com, has passed away while receiving treatment at a hospital in London.
He died at around 7:00 pm Bangladesh time on Friday (October 2) after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
Khalidi had travelled to London a few days earlier for medical treatment. On Thursday night, he reportedly felt dizzy and collapsed in his hotel room. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance, where doctors later confirmed his death.
Khalidi was a well-known figure in Bangladesh’s journalism and media industry. He made an important contribution to the growth of online journalism in the country. Under his leadership, the news organisation was relaunched as bdnews24.com under new management in 2006.
Before joining bdnews24.com, Khalidi worked for a national broadsheet newspaper. He later worked at the BBC in the United Kingdom as a presenter, producer, and editor.
