Five-Day Holiday Announced for Durga Puja
The government has announced five consecutive days of holiday for Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community.
The announcement was made through an executive order on Tuesday (September 29). The holiday will run from October 20 to October 24.
The previously announced Durga Puja holidays were Tuesday and Wednesday, October 20 and 21. The government has now declared Thursday, October 22, a holiday as well.
With the regular weekend on Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24, the total holiday period will be five consecutive days.
