Ferdousi Ahmed Misti Resigns as MP
Ferdousi Ahmed Misti, a member of parliament from a reserved women’s seat, has resigned following instructions from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
She submitted her resignation letter to Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed at the National Parliament on Thursday afternoon (October 1).
Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had directed her to step down as an MP. She later went to Parliament and formally submitted her resignation.
Calls for her resignation emerged after the Radda MCH-FP Centre, a maternal and child healthcare facility in Mirpur, Dhaka, was demolished last Thursday.
