The gazette notification for 46 candidates who were recommended by the Public Service Commission (PSC) for the education cadre under the 49th Special BCS but were left out will be published next Monday, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said.
He shared the information while speaking to journalists at his office in the Secretariat on Thursday afternoon (October 1).
The home minister said the PSC had selected 665 candidates, but eight did not pass the medical examination, leaving 657 candidates. He added that the gazette notifications were issued in several phases and that no candidate had been treated unfairly because of their political identity.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission published the final results of the 49th BCS on November 11 last year. A total of 668 candidates were provisionally recommended for appointment against 683 vacant posts in the BCS general education cadre.
The PSC said it could not recommend candidates for 15 posts because no suitable applicants were available. After verification and other formalities, the government issued the final appointment gazette for 611 candidates.
