Prime Minister Directs Ferdousi Ahmed Misti to Resign as MP
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed BNP lawmaker Ferdousi Ahmed Misti to resign from her reserved women’s seat in parliament.
Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atiqur Rahman Rumon confirmed the decision on Thursday afternoon (October 1).
“The party’s high command has asked her to resign,” he said, adding that the instruction came from the BNP’s top leadership.
A source also confirmed that Ferdousi had been asked to step down as an MP following instructions from Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Earlier, several media reports alleged her involvement in an attack, looting and vandalism at the RADDA MCH-FP Centre on September 24.
The health centre had been providing medical services in the area for nearly five decades.
