Four Bangladeshi expatriates, including the driver, were killed in a road accident in the Saudi port city of Jeddah. Preliminary information indicated that all four were from Kanaighat Upazila in Sylhet.
The accident occurred at around 2 p.m. local time on Monday (September 7) on the Taif–Al-Khurma Highway.
The victims were identified as Karim Uddin, Khalid Mia, Amin Mia, and Shah Alam.
A group of Bangladeshi expatriates was travelling from Taif to Jeddah Airport to catch a flight home for a holiday. When their car reached the Al-Khomra area, one of its tyres suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to crash.
Four people, including the driver, died at the scene. Their bodies were later taken to the morgue of a local hospital.
