Biman to Sign Deal to Buy 10 Airbus Aircraft on 7 October
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is set to sign an agreement in Dhaka on 7 October to purchase 10 Airbus aircraft: four A350-900s and six A321neos.
Officials said the signing ceremony will take place on Wednesday evening at the Radisson Hotel. Jürgen Westermeier, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, and Kaiser Sohel Ahmed, Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, will sign on behalf of their respective organisations.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir are expected to attend.
If signed, the agreement will mark a significant step in Biman’s long-term plan to modernise and expand its fleet. It will also formally add Airbus to an aircraft purchasing strategy that has so far relied on Boeing.
