Price of 12kg LPG Cylinder Rises by Tk 252
The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has increased again in Bangladesh. For October, the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has risen by Tk 252 to Tk 1,837.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new price on Sunday (October 4), and it took effect immediately.
Consumers will now have to pay Tk 252 more than in September, when a 12kg cylinder cost Tk 1,585. This represents an increase of nearly 16 percent in one month.
LPG prices have changed several times in recent months. A 12kg cylinder cost Tk 1,528 in July. The price increased by Tk 70 to Tk 1,598 in August before falling by Tk 13 to Tk 1,585 in September.
BERC said the latest adjustment was made in response to higher LPG prices in the international market. The commission reviews domestic LPG prices every month based on global market rates.
