Shahjalal Airport’s Third Terminal to Begin Operations on December 16
The third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will officially begin operations on December 16.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat announced the opening date while briefing reporters on Tuesday (September 8) after inspecting the terminal.
Twenty aircraft are expected to use the terminal on its first day. However, the facility may not become fully operational until May next year, the minister said.
He added that Bangladesh would receive 27 percent of the revenue generated from operating the third terminal. Biman Bangladesh Airlines will also be responsible for 50 percent of the ground-handling operations.
