Senior Government Officials Allowed Electric SUVs Costing Up to Tk 75 Lakh
The Ministry of Finance has announced new price limits for government-funded full electric vehicles (FEVs) used by officials at government, autonomous, state-owned and public-sector organisations.
Officials in Grade 2 or above under the national pay scale will be allowed to use electric SUVs costing up to Tk 75 lakh, including registration fees, VAT and taxes.
The maximum price of an electric SUV for officials in Grade 3 or below has been set at Tk 55 lakh. For officials entitled to use cars instead of SUVs, the spending limit will be Tk 50 lakh.
Officials holding the rank of deputy secretary to additional secretary, or equivalent positions, are entitled to government vehicle facilities. Those who do not purchase a vehicle through the government’s interest-free loan scheme are provided with an official vehicle.
