Foul Smell Prompts Call to Police; Three Bodies Found in Locked Room
Police have recovered the bodies of a man, a woman, and a newborn baby from a locked room in a rented house in the Madhya Jamgora area of Ashulia, Savar.
The bodies were recovered at dawn on Saturday (September 5) from a property owned by Haji Hazrat Ali. The man and woman had reportedly rented the room after identifying themselves as a married couple. The doors and windows of the room were always kept shut.
Police were alerted on Friday night after a foul smell began coming from the room. Officers later arrived at the property and recovered the bodies. A forensic team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) also arrived at dawn and collected evidence from the scene.
Police suspect that the incident may be a case of homicide after finding a cotton towel wrapped around the man’s neck.
Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station, said the initial assessment was that the adult victims were husband and wife. Police are working to trace their home addresses.
