Five Films Vie to Represent Bangladesh at the Oscars
Five Bangladeshi films are competing to become the country’s official submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars.
According to the Oscar Bangladesh Committee, the films submitted for consideration are:
* *Manusher Bagan*, directed by Nurul Alam Atique
* *Roid*, directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon
* *Domm*, directed by Redoan Rony
* *Delupi*, directed by Mohammad Tauquir Islam
* *The University of Chankharpul*, directed by Monirul Akash Haque
The committee officially invited submissions for the category on August 20, with the deadline closing on September 16.
A seven-member jury has already been formed to evaluate the five films and select Bangladesh’s final entry for the Oscars.
