Special Measles Vaccination Campaign to Run from September 26 to October 31

A special nationwide measles vaccination campaign for children aged six to 59 months will begin on September 26 and continue until October 31.
The campaign aims to vaccinate 3.4 million children, Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain announced at a press conference held at the Secretariat on Sunday (September 20).
The minister said a nationwide measles vaccination programme was conducted from April to May 20 with support from UNICEF, Gavi and the World Health Organization. Against a target of 18 million children, the programme achieved between 102 and 104 per cent coverage.
He added that a follow-up vaccination programme would continue after the campaign for children who newly reach six months of age.
District commissioners, civil surgeons, hospital superintendents and directors, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officers, Upazila Nirbahi Officers and other relevant officials will be involved in implementing the programme.
