Schools and Colleges Nationwide Closed on Wednesday

THT Report • September 22, 2026
Fateha-e-Yazdaham will be observed across Bangladesh on Wednesday (September 23). Classes will remain suspended at educational institutions nationwide, according to the revised annual holiday calendar.
However, the day is not a general public holiday for all government and private offices.
All primary schools, government and private secondary schools, colleges, madrasas and technical educational institutions will remain closed.
For universities, the holiday will depend on decisions made by their own administrations. Universities that remain closed usually issue a notice in advance.
The holiday was previously scheduled for Thursday (September 24). As the date depends on the sighting of the moon, the Secondary and Higher Education Division changed it and issued a notification on Sunday afternoon.
