Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Meets UN Secretary-General

The meeting took place on Thursday afternoon (September 24), New York time, on the 27th floor of the Secretariat Building at the United Nations headquarters.

They discussed cooperation between Bangladesh and the UN, major global and regional issues, and matters of mutual interest.

Their discussions covered Bangladesh’s development, efforts to address the effects of climate change, a sustainable solution to the Rohingya crisis, and Bangladesh’s continued contribution to the UN’s peace, security and development activities.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to multilateralism, international cooperation, peace and sustainable development.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres stressed the importance of further strengthening the UN’s longstanding partnership with Bangladesh.

Both sides agreed to continue working closely to address shared global challenges.
