Gold Prices Rise Again After One Week; 22-Carat Jewellery Up by Tk 1691

Gold prices have risen again in Bangladesh, just one week after the previous adjustment. The price of the highest-quality 22-carat gold has increased by Tk 1,691 for each bhori, bringing the price of a bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery, including VAT, to Tk 234,621.The new price came into effect at 10 am on Saturday (September 19), the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said.
Gold prices have been adjusted 116 times in the country so far this year—58 increases and 58 decreases.
Under the new rates, the price of 21-carat gold has risen by Tk 1,575 to Tk 224,065 per bhori. The price of 18-carat gold has increased by Tk 1,301 to Tk 192,397, while traditional-category gold has gone up by Tk 1,108 to Tk 157,172.
Silver prices have also increased. Including VAT, the price of 22-carat silver has risen by Tk 117 to Tk 5,132 per bhori. The price of 21-carat silver has increased by Tk 175 to Tk 4,957, while 18-carat silver has risen by Tk 175 to Tk 4,257. Traditional-category silver has gone up by Tk 116 to Tk 3,207 per bhori.
