Debashish Roy Chowdhury Sworn In as Permanent High Court Judge

Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury has taken the oath of office as a permanent judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury administered the oath at the Supreme Court Judges’ Lounge at 11 am on Thursday (September 24).

Judges from both the Appellate Division and the High Court Division attended the ceremony.

The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Acting Registrar General of the Supreme Court Ashiqul Khabir.

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir appointed Debashish Roy Chowdhury as a permanent High Court judge on Monday under Article 95 of the Constitution, following consultation with the chief justice.

Debashish Roy Chowdhury was appointed as an additional High Court judge on October 8, 2024.
