Banks to Remain Open Friday and Saturday for Hajj Registration Payments

Bangladesh Bank has instructed relevant bank branches across the country to remain open on Friday and Saturday, September 25 and 26, to accept Hajj registration payments.

The central bank’s Supervisory Data Management and Analytics Department issued a circular on Wednesday (September 23).

The circular was sent to the managing directors and chief executive officers of all scheduled banks in Bangladesh.

It said branches authorised to receive Hajj registration payments must remain open on both days.

If pilgrims arrive after regular banking hours, the branches must continue accepting payments for as long as customers are present. Banks have also been instructed to ensure proper security during the extended hours.
