Bangladesh to Play T20 Series in Memory of Nepal Flood Victims

THT Report • September 17, 2026
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has agreed to a proposal for the national team to tour Nepal for a three-match T20 series in March 2027.
The series will be dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in Nepal’s recent devastating floods. The matches will be played in Kathmandu on March 26, 28 and 30.
Discussions about the series began during a meeting between State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque and Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari.
Bhandari later met BCB President Tamim Iqbal. They discussed the proposed tour as well as greater cricketing cooperation between Bangladesh and Nepal.
In a statement, the BCB said: “The BCB extends its deepest sympathies to all those affected by the devastating floods and recognises the significance of dedicating the series to the memory of the victims.”
It added: “These three matches will give Bangladesh and Nepal an opportunity to come together through cricket and send a message of friendship and solidarity during this time of profound grief.”
