THT Report • October 2, 2026
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the new format and schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup, jointly hosted by South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh will begin their campaign against England on October 8. They have been placed in Group B alongside England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and one qualifying team.
After facing England, Bangladesh will play New Zealand on October 12, Sri Lanka on October 16, hosts South Africa on October 19, and the team advancing from the Super Series on October 23.

The top three teams from each group will qualify directly for the Super Seven stage. The fourth-placed team with the higher points total will claim the seventh spot. Teams will not carry points from the group stage, and each will play six matches in the Super Seven.
The top four teams will advance to the semifinals, scheduled for November 17 and 18. The final will be held in Johannesburg on November 21.
A total of 57 matches will be played across 12 venues—eight in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe, and one in Namibia.
