Bangladesh has provided a grant of US$1 million to Nepal to support relief and humanitarian operations following devastating flash floods and landslides. The contribution was made to Nepal’s Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund as part of the country’s ongoing relief, recovery, and humanitarian assistance efforts.

On Thursday (September 3), State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir handed a letter from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, addressed to Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah, to Ghanshyam Bhandari, Nepal’s ambassador to Bangladesh, at State Guest House Padma. He also informed the ambassador of the financial assistance provided by the Bangladesh government.

Earlier, on September 1, Kabir signed a condolence book opened at the Nepalese Embassy in Dhaka. The Bangladesh Parliament also adopted a condolence motion on August 27 following the devastating natural disaster in Nepal.
