Bangladesh Bank’s Net Profit Nears Tk 26,000 Crore

Bangladesh Bank’s net profit rose to Tk 25,977 crore in the 2025–26 fiscal year, an increase of Tk 3,357 crore from the previous year. The central bank recorded a net profit of Tk 22,620 crore in 2024–25.

The bank’s board of directors approved the financial statements for the 2025–26 fiscal year at a meeting on Sunday (August 30).

Bangladesh Bank transfers its entire profit to the government, which has already received Tk 10,000 crore. The remaining Tk 15,977 crore will be credited to the government’s account shortly.

The board meeting was held in the central bank’s conference room, chaired by Governor Md. Mostakur Rahman and attended by the other directors.
